The original Almonte Farmers’ Market mural was designed by Noreen Young in 1991 and painted by a number of members of the Almonte Artists’ Association (AAAA) at the time.  It depicts the Almonte Farmers’ Market c.1910 and is mounted in the location of the original market, in the parking lot behind upper Mill St (Market Square).  Over 25 years later, the current members of AAAA recreated the mural to replace that old mural that had deteriorated beyond repair.  The mural consists of five 8 ft wide x 4 ft high panels. The project took several months and hundreds of manhours to complete.
